Meet & Greet with the Artist
Amy Silberkleit is an artist in the Northern Catskills. Her work is based on the forests, mountains, roads, trails and natural objects found near her home. The extraordinary beauty of the region, the variety of plants, forms and textures, the dramatic changes from season to season are an inexhaustible source of subjects for her work.
She draws detailed landscapes on limestone blocks and hand-prints limited editions in her lithography studio in Gilboa. The tonal range made possible by the lithography stone’s fine texture lends itself perfectly to highly detailed representational drawings
Amy has a B.A. in printmaking. She has a Certificate in Natural Science Art and Illustration from the New York Botanical Gardens, and has studied at the Art Students League in NYC. Her drawings and prints have been exhibited in juried shows, galleries and museums, including the Arkell Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gallery Store and the Albany Institute, which has two of her pieces in its permanent collection. Her awards include the John Noble Lithography Award from SAGA; the Woodstock Artist Association and Museum Annual Print Edition and Sheila Bloodgood awards; the Deborah Geurtze Award for Printmaking, Cooperstown Art Association.

What memories do you hold closest to your heart? Which moments define your story? In this two-part workshop, you’ll explore the art of preserving memories by creating a beautifully personalized keepsake box—your very own vessel for the treasures of your life. Together, we’ll dive into the power of memory and the objects that carry meaning, weaving your story into a tangible piece of art.
Through guided techniques in painting, collage, and mixed media design, you’ll craft a box that not only reflects who you are but also honors the memories and moments that matter most.
This workshop is about more than just creativity—it’s a journey of reflection and connection. You’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind keepsake box to hold your letters, photos, or tokens of significance and the inspiration to cherish and share your story for years to come. Hosted by former WAJ teacher, Stephani Dimopoulos.
