Join us each week at the Main Street Community Center for an hour of learning, curiosity, and conversation. Each week, we'll watch a lecture from The Great Courses, exploring everything from history and science to art, literature, philosophy, and the world around us. No homework. No tests. No prior knowledge needed. Just come curious! 

We'll watch the lecture together and leave a little time afterward to share thoughts, ask questions, and talk about what we've learned. 

This program is free and open to all. Donations are always welcome and help support programs at the Main Street Community Center.

Join instructor Lynn Byrne for a fun and welcoming four-week course designed to help you build confidence and improve your conversational Spanish. This class is open to anyone with some previous experience with the Spanish language. Even if the last time you took Spanish was in high school, you’re welcome to join! If you’ve taken a Spanish class with us at the Community Center before, this is a great opportunity to keep practicing and building on what you already know. Classes are offered both in person at the Main Street Community Center and online via Zoom, so you can choose the format that works best for you. Whether you’re looking to refresh your Spanish, become more comfortable speaking, or simply keep learning, we encourage you to join us!

Join award-winning local nature photographer Francis Driscoll for an inspiring, hands-on photography workshop exploring the beauty of the Catskills. We’ll begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Windham Path, meeting at the NY-23 entrance, for a guided photography walk. Fran will share tips and techniques for capturing nature and landscape photographs using your own digital camera or phone, with a focus on composition, light, perspective, and seeing the landscape in new ways. After our walk, we’ll gather at the Main Street Community Center for a hands-on introduction to photo editing and learn how to turn your photographs into finished images. We’ll break for lunch and then continue the workshop at the Community Center. This workshop is perfect for beginners and photography enthusiasts alike. No professional equipment is required. Bring your camera or phone, comfortable walking shoes, and a willingness to explore!

Registration: $10

The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Saving course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. The course reflects science and education from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). 

What does this course teach? 

High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants BLS concepts from the Chain of Survival 

Delivering effective breaths or ventilations Importance of early use of and how to use an AED 

Performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR 

Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants
