This April, Art Odyssey invites young artists on an imaginative indoor adventure inspired by the textures, colors, and stories of the natural world. Children will explore sustainable art practices, experiment with a wide range of materials, and build their own paper garden, a personal world they’ll add to each week. Rooted in creativity and play, this series balances artistic skill-building with open-ended exploration, while celebrating Earth Day, storytelling, and the joy of making.

This month, we’re digging into the science of spring! From roots to sunlight to pollinators, kids will explore how plants grow and thrive through hands-on activities and real-world experiments. Each week focuses on a new aspect of plant life, from sprouting seeds to soil composition, sunlight’s role in photosynthesis, and the busy lives of pollinators. Participants will get messy, curious, and inspired as they learn how the natural world springs to life.

Get ready for an afternoon of creativity and fun at the Community Center! With an early dismissal at WAJ, we’re turning the day into a LEGO party! Kids will enjoy building and playing with LEGO, listening to music, and letting their imaginations run wild.
Best of all, thanks to the generosity of the Windham Foundation, each child will take home their very own LEGO play kit!

Celebrate the beauty of spring with our Spring Blooms: Watercolor Workshop! In this hands-on class, students will learn watercolor painting techniques using both traditional watercolor paints and watercolor pencils. With guided instruction, participants will create three stunning, spring-themed greeting cards, perfect for sharing or displaying. All materials and step-by-step guidance are included, just bring your creativity! Suitable for all skill levels.

Bring your love for books and creativity to life in this intergenerational workshop celebrating National Book Month! Come join us as families and friends of all ages design and create unique bookmarks that reflect the joy of storytelling and the timeless bond between readers. Using recycled and natural materials, participants will craft two meaningful bookmarks—one to take home and one to submit to our bookmark contest.
Community members will vote for their favorite children's bookmark and adult bookmark. At the end of the month, we will choose two winners—one child and one adult—based on who receives the most votes. Each winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Briars and Brambles Books in Windham.

Join us for a two-day Digital Animal Workshop where students in grades 5-8 will bring their wildest creatures to life! Using digital tools, students will design and animate their own short films, learning essential skills in editing, adding sound effects, and setting the perfect music. Whether it’s a soaring eagle, a deep-sea mystery, or a mythical beast, this hands-on workshop will guide young creators through the exciting world of digital storytelling. No prior experience needed—just imagination and a love for animation!
