We’re so excited to kick off another fantastic year of after-school enrichment at the Community Center! This fall, we’re offering more classes than ever. From art and science to movement and making—led by a growing team of amazing community instructors. Whether your child is in Pre-K or middle school, there’s something for everyone to explore, learn, and enjoy.
New this year: classes are grouped by age, so be sure to check the grade level listed before signing up.

Mondays, November 3, 10, 17, & 24

Grades PreK-3
Registration: $40 for all 4 weeks
This November, students will step into the shoes of great artists in Mini-Masters! Each week, they’ll learn about a new master artist, exploring their style, medium, and influence, and create a work of their own using the techniques of the masters. Students will experiment with new mediums and styles while discovering the joy of creating their own masterpieces at the Community Center.

Registration: $30 for all 4 weeks
In this three-session knitting workshop for grades 4–6, students will learn the basics of knitting while creating their very own hat from start to finish. Step by step, they’ll gain skills in casting on, knitting stitches, and finishing techniques. By the final class, each student will have a cozy handmade hat to wear or share. All materials are included

Fridays, November 7, 14, & 21

Grades: Pre-k - 3
Registration: $30 for all 3 weeks
This hands-on class uses playful, narrative-based problem-solving to guide young students toward becoming independent STEAM thinkers. Each lesson is centered around relatable themes that spark creativity, encouraging students to brainstorm and experiment with different solutions through trial and error. Collaboration with peers is key as they work together to overcome challenges and bring their ideas to life, one brick at a time.

Do you have what it takes to engineer the ultimate design? Each week, students will go head-to-head in exciting challenges that test creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. From building the tallest tower to designing the fastest car, every session brings a new test of skill and imagination. Who will rise to the challenge? Join us and find out!

This month in Art Odyssey, our youngest artists will celebrate the beauty of autumn with hands-on, fall-themed crafts. From colorful leaves to festive pumpkins, children in grades PreK–3 will explore the rich colors and textures of the season while creating art that captures the magic of fall.

Join Pam Skop, a yoga teacher and licensed mental health counselor, for a 4-week yoga series just for kids! We’ll stretch, move, and play while learning how to use our breath to feel calm and focused. Get ready to wiggle, giggle, and get all that extra energy out, while finding more peace in your body and mind. Come move, breathe, and have fun with us!

Blast off into outer space! In this 4-week program, students will explore our solar system while creating their very own planet diorama. Each week, we’ll learn fascinating facts about the planets, moons, and stars, and then bring that knowledge to life through hands-on building, painting, and crafting. By the end of the program, every student will have a one-of-a-kind diorama showcasing our solar system.

Each week builds toward a final performance where students will showcase their puppets and a story for family and friends. Perfect for young artists who love to imagine, create, and perform!

Take your creativity to the next level with this 4-week puppet-making workshop! Students will explore more advanced techniques such as felting, sewing, and papier-mâché to design and build unique puppets with personality and detail. Along the way, they’ll collaborate to write scripts, design simple stage elements, and develop performance skills.

In this three-week program, students in grades K–3 will explore the wonders of our solar system through fun, hands-on science activities and creative art projects. Art Odyssey: The Nature In Our Watershed
Spring has sprung! Join us for this art-intensive program focusing on all things outdoors. Participants utilized a variety of techniques to create individual and group artwork, which was submitted to the 'Flowing Impressions' art exhibition, which took place to celebrate Schoharie Watershed Month
