Continue your yarn arts journey with us! This three-week after-school program is designed for students in grades 4–6 who previously participated in our Yarn Arts Club. We’ll build on the knitting and crochet skills already learned, tackle new techniques, and introduce the art of cross stitch. Students will work on fun projects to take home while gaining confidence, creativity, and dexterity.

In this one-hour afterschool enrichment class, kids in grades PreK–4 will become mini engineers as they build towers and structures using marshmallows and toothpicks. Through hands-on play, students will explore balance, stability, and simple STEM concepts while practicing fine motor skills and problem-solving.

This hands-on class uses playful, narrative-based problem-solving to guide young students toward becoming independent STEAM thinkers. Each lesson is centered around relatable themes that spark creativity, encouraging students to brainstorm and experiment with different solutions through trial and error. Collaboration with peers is key as they work together to overcome challenges and bring their ideas to life, one brick at a time.

Heading to the Elementary Christmas Concert? Let us take care of dinner and warm up those singing voices! Drop the kids off for a fun Pizza & Practice Party, where they’ll enjoy delicious pizza, holiday music, and a chance to rehearse their songs with friends. We’ll keep them fed, happy, and concert-ready, so you can take a breath before the big performance!

In this fun one-hour afterschool program, kids in grades PreK–4 will explore how air can create motion! Using balloons, straws, and simple materials, students will build their own “skaters” and race them across the table, discovering how wind power helps them glide. This hands-on STEM activity encourages creativity, problem-solving, and an understanding of cause and effect, all through playful experimentation.

Join us on Friday, December 19th, right after early dismissal from WAJ , for a festive Gingerbread House Decorating Party. This November, students will step into the shoes of great artists in Mini-Masters! Each week, they’ll learn about a new master artist, exploring their style, medium, and influence, and create a work of their own using the techniques of the masters. Students will experiment with new mediums and styles while discovering the joy of creating their own masterpieces at the Community Center.

In this three-session knitting workshop for grades 4–6, students will learn the basics of knitting while creating their very own hat from start to finish. Step by step, they’ll gain skills in casting on, knitting stitches, and finishing techniques. By the final class, each student will have a cozy handmade hat to wear or share. All materials are included

Join Colleen for a fun and creative two-day needle felting workshop! Students will learn the basics of needle felting and use colorful wool to sculpt their very own adorable creation. This hands-on class is perfect for young artists who love crafting and working with their hands.

Step back into the golden age of play with Retro Play Lab, a two-day guided learn-and-play program for preschoolers. Through timeless favorites like Yahtzee, Perfection, Jenga, and Connect 4, children build early math, pattern, and problem-solving skills while learning to take turns, cheer on friends, and celebrate teamwork.

Join Pam Skop, a yoga teacher and licensed mental health counselor, for a 4-week yoga series just for kids! We’ll stretch, move, and play while learning how to use our breath to feel calm and focused. Blast off into outer space! In this 4-week program, students will explore our solar system while creating their very own planet diorama. Each week, we’ll learn fascinating facts about the planets, moons, and stars, and then bring that knowledge to life through hands-on building, painting, and crafting. By the end of the program, every student will have a one-of-a-kind diorama showcasing our solar system.

 Take your creativity to the next level with this 4-week puppet-making workshop! Students will explore more advanced techniques such as felting, sewing, and papier-mâché to design and build unique puppets with personality and detail. Along the way, they’ll collaborate to write scripts, design simple stage elements, and develop performance skills.
