Artist Bio: My artistic practice is rooted in landscape, inspired by the vastness

of the region where I live and the constant transformation of the environment

from season to season and from dawn to dusk. I am drawn to the emotional

resonance of place—how light, atmosphere, and memory converge to create

moments that compel me to respond visually. Painting and printmaking have

become both an exploration of the external world and an expression of my

internal response to it. When a scene moves me, my goal is to translate that

experience so it can be shared with others.

Driscoll is an award winning nature photographer,whose work has appeared in many publications, including National Geographic Explorer and Cynthia Dantzic’s art book 100 New York Photographers. Driscoll is a self-taught photographer, whose work involves total immersion in a setting so that he might capture that rare glimpse and share it with others. His primary subject is the Catskill Forest Preserve, and his best shots are often hard-won through years of returning to the same place with a sense of expectation for the beauty that might

100% of the proceeds from this work directly support the Main Street Community Center’s After-School Enrichment Programs, helping provide meaningful, creative opportunities for children in our community.

Artist Bio: Paul Nelson is relatively new to the world of watercolor painting, having only picked up a brush less than three years ago. He is honored to be in this exhibit, having taken lessons at Columbia-Greene Community College and at the Main Street Community Center in Windham, NY under the tutelage of fellow artist Ross Lavery. In addition to painting, he has also taken up ceramics recently and is in the process of building a home pottery studio.

He currently splits his time between Albany and Jewett, NY with his wife, Cassie, and their dog, Lyla. When he is not painting or throwing clay, he is out running, having completed 83 marathons (and counting) including at least one on all seven continents (yes, there is one in Antarctica!)

Artist Bio: Joan Thorne is a nationally recognized painter whose work has been

exhibited widely for over five decades. Her paintings have been included in two

the David Richard Gallery in New York and the Addison Rowe Gallery in Santa

Fe. Thorne has had four museum retrospectives, most recently at the Barry Art Museum, and her work is held in permanent collections including the Brooklyn Museum, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. A recipient of the Prix de Rome Fellowship, Pollock-Krasner Grants, and the Gottlieb Grant, her work has been widely reviewed in The New York Times, Art in America, and ArtNews.

Artist Bio: Sheila Trautman is a watercolorist who is inspired both by the grandeur of the outdoors with the intricate light patterns and varied colors and the rugged lines of the city with its ever changing reflections. Aside from her own

painting, Sheila has taken an active role in the art community, working with the

educational division of the Metropolitan Opera, invited to participate in the Art

Center of Northern NJ Watercolor Affiliates, Former board member of CREATE Council on the Arts, former board member of the Main Street Community Center, and currently on the Board and the Artistic Director of the Windham Arts Alliance. She also produces a weekly digital newsletter that supports the local arts community.
